CHAIRMAN'S WELCOME:

Simon Black who took the chair in the absence of Jack Bloodworth the appointed chairman, welcomed those present and explained the reason for this meeting. He explained it was now the requirement of ECB that an Association of Cricket Officials be set up in Huntingdonshire. He explained this Association would take the place of Huntingdonshire ACU & S. ACO represents not only umpires but also scorers, and it was pleasing to see a Lady Scorer present.

SECRETARY'S REPORT:

A meeting was organised by Huntingdonshire County Board to be held at Stanground Sports College on Wednesday 12th March 2008. At this meeting a committee was formed to represent the Huntingdonshire ACO. Since then three informal meetings have taken place, which in turn has brought about the meeting here tonight at Huntingdon.

C. Jones the present Treasurer of Hunts ACU&S informed me he wished to retire from that post.

TREASURER'S REPORT:

Keith Golightly would contact C. Jones regarding monies relating to Huntingdonshire ACU&S, this account held at the moment by Lloyds TSB at Corby.

TRAINING OFFICERS REPORT:

Adam Allies is attending ACO Training Course at Lansbury Club, Teddington on 17"' & 18" November 2008, followed by a further course at Derby on November 28th. These courses being organised by ECB.

Level 1 course starting November 18"' at Orton Centre which will be a 10/12 Week Course running into 2009.

APPOINTMENTS & ASSESSMENT OFFICER'S REPORT

Steve Ross hopes to circulate dates of Huntingdonshire County Fixtures by mid January 2009. Whilst those present at the meeting gave telephone, mobile and Email details, he hopes more members will notify him. Assessment and Gradings will be set by a Sub committee. Chris Kelly (ECB ACO) states no gradings have been received from Hunts ACID. The 'Sub committee' intend to rectify that as soon as possible.

ECB & HCB REPRESENTATIVE:

Simon Black will continue to represent Huntingdonshire ACO at HCB meetings; he will also represent us at ECB ACO. He has already attended a meeting on 'Education & Training', the speaker being Nick Cousins who has been engaged in a consultancy capacity by ECB ACO.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS:

Adam Allies suggested a report on the standard of umpiring by managers of all Huntingdonshire County games would be of help when Assessing and Grading.

It was considered 4 meetings per year would be sufficient, namely Feb, May, Aug and Nov.

The next meeting will be the Annua! General Meeting to be held on Monday, February 23'° 2009 at the Greystones Public House, The Green, Sawtry at 7.30pm.

Meeting closed at 9.00pm
