Traditionally the Huntingdonshire ACO have made a donation to a worthwhile cricket related cause each year. In 2009 we supported two members of Great Witchingham CC (EAPL) in their bid to climb Everest in support of the East Anglian Children’s Hospice. In 2010 we helped a young Ramsey cricketer needing funds to tour South Africa.

In 2011 your Committee agreed to support a small team headed by Northants and former England U’19 player, David Willey in a charity bike ride from John O’Groats to Land’s End in aid of Cancer Research UK. Former England Test Player and current First Class Umpire, Peter Willey was in the back up team, but driving the support car -  not on a bike!

Steve Ross, our Chairman, recently received this text message:

Hi Steve,

David Willey here from Northants Cricket. I hope you had a good Christmas? Just a quick message to thank you all from Hunts ACO for your donation towards my bike ride for Cancer Research UK. We have raised over £6000!

Hope you have a good New Year?

Regards

David
